We Are All Dreamers
We’ve all dreamed of building something and selling it. Whether a piece of software, a book, a desk, a pie, a house or any other thing that can be built and shipped or delivered.
Once we step away from the things that we normally allow to hold us back and we are in the middle of the developing, the planning and the stress… it’s easy to loose sight of the goal. The immediate daily struggle of completing the project, bit by bit takes over and the “right now” can look quite daunting.
However the only way I know to build a house is to do it one day at a time. One step at a time. One board at a time. One nail at a time. I’ve done that.
I think that is how successful businesses, brands and products are built as well.
I guess we shall see.
The Road Ahead
I wrote the other day about decisions and trying to keep them in perspective. Choosing where you want to be in five years and making steps and decisions today that will lead you there.
But sometimes that just isn’t possible. Some times the things of “today” are quite important and they drown out the idea of where we are going in five years.
However if we have made the “five year decision” we can know that we are on the right road. Once we are there, all we really need is to see the immediate road right in front of us. The headlights of a vehicle at night illuminate only the next 100 or 200 feet. Yet we still manage to make our way to our destinations.
To me this represents the “daily grind,” the work in the trenches that must be done before the end goal can be met.
That’s where I am today and where I will be for the next few weeks.
The Blog Direction
I mentioned in the title something about blog direction. Maybe that makes you curious.
Well, here is the deal. This blog is slowly morphing into something a bit different than it was at the beginning of the year.
At the beginning of the year, I was going to use this site and blog to simply share my photography. As time has gone by I’ve written a few WordPress and Pressgram “tutorial” type articles, as well as some more personal stuff.
And as the blog continues to unwind I still plan to share images with you. Especially if I am able to travel…
However you might just notice a switch to more personal stories and thoughts. As I work to try to build a brand and a business on the web.
I’m planning to shy away from a “tutorial” website, but if on occasion I have something I want to share with you, then by all means I will!
So there you go. A glimpse into my life. A glimpse into the future.
Have a wonderful day!
The only thing missing is your voice!
